Formation and Family

Shelton Academy seeks to cultivate human excellence through magnanimity—offering holistic and personalized formation for teachers (first and foremost), as well as for parents and students, in the third place.

With this goal in mind, the Formation Department has designed and implemented a comprehensive Action Plan, also known as the Plan of Virtues Program, which supports every dimension of school life. It is essential to understand that these principles are meant to be lived out continuously—through classroom instruction, mentoring sessions, disciplinary decisions, and in all relationships: between students and teachers, administration and faculty, and parents and staff. These principles guide everything we do at school—from the moment the gates open in the morning until the last person leaves at the end of the day.

The figure, life, and teachings of Saint Josemaría Escrivá form the foundation of our Formation. Known as the master of ordinary life, his example of joyful service, commitment to excellence, and dedication to education as a path to true freedom deeply inspires the spirit and structure of our formation program.

At Shelton, Formation is all about Mind, Heart, Spirit, and Hands — united in purpose.
