About Shelton Academy

The Shelton Shield

At the heart of the Shelton Academy seal stands a  tree, deeply rooted and reaching upwards symbolizing growth, strength, and the formation of character. This tree represents the Tree of Virtues, whose branches bear the essential qualities we strive to cultivate in our students: Charity, Prudence, Patience, Magnanimity, Sincerity, Perseverance, Joy, Honesty, Gratitude, Empathy, Responsibility, Friendship, Orderliness, and Humility. These virtues are not simply ideals; they are living habits that, when practiced daily, help our students grow into exceptional human beings strong in character and anchored in truth.

Above the tree is our guiding motto: “Omnia in Bonum”, a Latin phrase meaning “All things work for the good.” This powerful reminder, rooted in St. Paul’s letter to the Romans (8:28), speaks to our trust in Divine Providence and our call to see every challenge, success, and moment of growth as part of a greater good. It is this faith-filled optimism that inspires our mission: to form leaders who transform the world through virtue, service, and joy.
