The Exceptional Student Education after-school program is dedicated to serve students who have a learning or developmental disability and are in need of extra support for educational success. This program will be offered to elementary, middle school, and high school students. We will provide supplemental educational support services that will be tailored to meet the students’ individual needs so that they can reach their full potential.

The goal of the ESL program is to give support to English language learners to acquire proficiency in the four areas of language: listening, speaking, reading, and writing, sufficient to perform effectively at the currently assigned grade level. Some of the activities conducted in the class are hands-on activities, storytelling, games, visuals for enhancing vocabulary and spelling words, and learning the mechanics of writing (capitalization, spelling and punctuation) as well as phonological awareness for introduction to reading and writing.

The Guided Homework program provides a smaller classroom environment where students are given assistance to complete their assigned tasks and homework. During this hour, the child is encouraged and guided to complete his/her homework and assignments in which they are familiar with. Parents will receive notifications of any academic concerns or if all assignments are not completed.

This service provides reviews for tests and midterms. Usually, it is given in small group settings with students requesting reinforcement in the same subject area. This tutoring needs to be requested in advance.

Our Tutoring sessions are tailored to your child's individual needs. It is a comprehensive program that gives organizing tools for those students that find it hard to work in a group environment. Assessing students' learning needs, strengthening writing skills, math goals, reading comprehension, taking students' academic goals to the next level (in any subject), filling gaps in their academics, strengthening areas of weakness, and suggesting new learning techniques are just a few of the areas of expertise our tutors offer. Our tutors take the time to explain the material that the student did not understand in class as they communicate with the morning teachers to better help students reach their full potential. We have sessions in person, via zoom, on the weekends to work with the individual schedules.
