At Shelton Academy, we believe that each person is unique, which is why we offer a personalized education to help every student reach their full potential. The guiding principles of our educational project are:Personalized Education, Family Involvement, Educational Quality & Innovation, Bilingualism, Values-Based Formation.
Our approach is inspired by a Christian vision of the person and society, grounded in the principle of human dignity. We seek to form men and women who live according to their convictions, while embracing the needs and concerns of others.
Personalized education at Shelton is made possible through close collaboration between parents and teachers. Each student is guided by a mentor who meets regularly with both the student and parents to set goals, foster growth, and encourage each child to give their best. Parents play a central role in extending the personalized education they provide at home, while teachers innovate and support students in developing their talents and striving for excellence.
We believe that study and diligent work are the main tools for character development. Friendship, teamwork, generosity, joy, and order are also essential aspects of life at Shelton Academy. Extracurricular activities — cultural, artistic, and athletic — further enrich the student experience.
Shelton Academy is inspired by the educational vision of Saint Josemaría Escrivá and is guided by the following core pillars:
Unity of Life, Spirit of Freedom, Christian Identity, Human Virtues, Friendly and Trustworthy Relationships, Love for Work, Service to Others, Investing in Young People.
Our vision is to build confidence, foster responsibility, and encourage freedom. We guide students to think carefully before making decisions, respecting their freedom while helping them assume responsibility for their choices.
As Saint Josemaría said: “There is no true education without personal responsibility, nor responsibility without freedom“.
In John 17, Jesus prays to the Father for His disciples and for all who would come to believe in Him. He asks for unity, protection, and holiness — that “they may all be one” and that the love of the Father may be alive in their hearts. This prayer reveals the deepest desire of Christ: to form His followers in truth, love, and communion.
As Carlos E. Padula, President of the Board, often reminds us, this is also the vision at the heart of Shelton Academy. Inspired by the words of Jesus, our mission is not only to teach but to form young men and women who live with faith, unity, virtue, and responsibility. Just as Christ prays for us to be one, Shelton strives to be a community where families, teachers, and students walk together, helping each student become the best version of themselves — academically, spiritually, and humanly.
This is why John 17 is central to our vision: true education goes beyond knowledge — it is formation rooted in truth and love. At Shelton, we prepare each student not only to live in the world after they leave our school, but to do so without losing the values they have learned here. The world should not take these values from them; rather, they should carry them forward, influencing the world around them with goodness, integrity, and faith.

When you entrust them to God and work with perseverance. As St. Josemaría reminded us, sanctity and greatness are found in the ordinary, in turning daily effort into prayer. Every dream is possible when lived with faith, effort, and love.”At Shelton Academy, we inspire our students to discover the extraordinary in the ordinary, and to live so that the extraordinary becomes their everyday.
Omnia in Bonum is also about trusting that God’s ways, though sometimes crooked in our eyes, are always leading us to good. At times, we may feel lost or unable to understand the path before us. Yet hope in Him allows us to see that Omnia in Bonum is His preparing something for us.
"All things work for the good” reminds us that nothing is wasted when we place our lives in God’s hands. Even challenges, setbacks, or hidden sacrifices can become stepping stones toward holiness and growth when seen with faith.
St. Josemaría often encouraged us to discover God in the ordinary. He taught that everything, joys and struggles alike, can lead us to Him if we face them with love, trust, and perseverance. To live Omnia in Bonum is to believe that God’s providence transforms every moment into an opportunity for grace.

Saint Josemaría often reminded us of the beauty of “Ocultarme y desaparecer” “to hide myself and disappear.” We are made to bring goodness into our daily lives, and when we act, it is not for recognition but for love. As he taught, our good works should be done with humility: to act (hacer) and, as he would say, “to hide oneself and disappear,” so that what truly matters shines through.
